Getting to Kofu Station – Around 90 Minutes from Shinjuku
The Katsunuma and Enzan winemaking areas are in Yamanashi’s Koshu Valley. Kofu Station, our usual meeting point, is around 90 minutes from Shinjuku by Limited Express Azusa or Kaiji. This region is the heart of Japanese wine country, known for boutique, family-owned wineries, vineyard landscapes, and (on clear days) views of Mount Fuji.
Many guests visit as a short day trip from Tokyo, enjoying a relaxing morning train ride before a private wine tasting experience in the Koshu Valley.
For most guests, the most practical way to reach the tour meeting point is by Limited Express Azusa or Kaiji from Shinjuku Station (around 90 minutes to Kofu Station).
Recommended Train Option:
For a straightforward journey, we recommend taking the Limited Express Azusa or Kaiji from Shinjuku Station. These services run directly to Kofu and offer reserved-seat options.
Traveling by limited express avoids highway congestion and allows everyone in the group to enjoy the tastings.
You’ll arrive at Kofu Station in around 90 minutes. Mountain views, including Mount Fuji, depend on the weather.
Traveling by car or van is possible, but highway congestion can make journey times unpredictable. For most guests, the train is the most practical and predictable option.
