Morey was an amazing guide!

Morey was an amazing guide! He’s knowledgeable, patient and hospitable. My wife and I had a lovely time and learnt so much about Japanese wines. Highly recommend going on this tour to experience Japanese wine culture.

We had a wonderful time touring the Koshu Valley with Morey. After a couple of busy days in Tokyo, it was the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a slower-paced day exploring the valley and its wineries.
Morey met us promptly at the train station and guided us through an incredible day of wine, food, and authentic local experiences. We visited five wineries in total and enjoyed a fantastic Japanese lunch that even included a bonus sake tasting.
My wife is vegetarian, and up until this point we had struggled to find good dining options for her in Japan. The restaurant Morey selected prepared an amazing meal for her, which made the experience even more special and thoughtful.
What truly set this tour apart was Morey’s strong relationships with the winery owners and staff. Because of his connections, we were able to enjoy special tastings and unique extras that likely would not have been possible on other tours. At nearly every winery, we had the chance to meet the owners and winemakers themselves, which gave us a much deeper appreciation for the wines and the region.
The Koshu Valley is an easy train ride from Tokyo, and with Morey as your guide, you can expect an unforgettable day filled with excellent wine, great food, and genuine hospitality.
If you’re considering wine tasting in Japan, I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was one of our highlights from our recent visit to Japan! I will be recommending it to everyone I know who is headed to Japan.

Morey is very knowledgeable about the wineries yet still retains approachability so that anyone from expert to novice can enjoy the wines of Yamanashi. The service is also very personal, taking into account how we like to enjoy wine and curating it to best fit us.

The wineries were varied between large and small, but each with their own story. I cannot wait to do it again to see the wineries we missed.

The tour included a wonderfully authentic Japanese lunch that blew our minds. It is not something you can get unless you know someone.

Thank you very much for one of the most wonderful experiences we have had in Japan if not the world! It truly was very special.

Highly recommend Winery Tours Japan with Morey. We started our day with Morey picking us up from our hotel. He was so accommodating even though my group was 30 minutes late. For the rest of the day, Morey shepherded us to 5 beautiful wineries and lunch. He was so knowledgeable about the area and the wines we were trying, and he made the experience fun by sharing interesting stories about his life in Japan. He even drove us to the onsen after! 10/10 experience

This is a MUST book experience!

This is a MUST book experience and it was the highlight of our trip!! Not only is the wine delicious but Morey is a fantastic host. He was very knowledgeable on the wines and wineries in the area and it was extra special getting to meet some of the wine makers themselves through his strong connections. We did this tour as part of our honeymoon and his friend even opened the temple for us and prayed over our marriage. Truly an amazing experience. We are grateful to have found Morey and caught a glimpse into the beautiful country side of Koshu. Thank you again!

My wife and I had an amazing day wine tasting with Winery Tours Japan. As avid, global wine tourists we were excited to experience our first time tasting local Japanese wines. We were able to visit a variety of great Japanese wineries with the bonus of a tasty local lunch and excellent conversation. As a foreigner it would be impossible to do wine touring so efficiently/enjoyably in Japan without Morey – an expert local host who speaks both fluent English and Japanese. We look forward to our next trip to Japan to be able to do it all over again with Morey as many more wineries to explore and more interesting stories to be shared!

A Beautiful and Well-Organized Day in Yamanashi!

Wonderful visit to beautiful Yamanashi with Morey on April 9th. In spite of train glitches and woes, I was able to visit 3 tasting rooms, a temple, and beautiful Senga Falls. The trip was well-organized and totally covered everything I had wished for including a beautiful view of Mt Fuji. For those who are inclined to visit areas of Japan that are beautiful, interesting, and less-traveled, I highly recommend this tour and hope to spend more time exploring this area on future trips

Morey curated a fantastic itinerary with visits to top-notch wineries, where we had the privilege of meeting passionate owners and winemakers (a real highlight of the day) and sampling a number of stellar wines. Lunch was also a delightful experience, featuring excellent locally-sourced food that perfectly complemented our tour. It was clear that Morey is highly respected by the local wine community, and his deep knowledge of Japanese wine enriched every stop. The tour felt personal, thoughtfully tailored to us, and by the end, we genuinely felt we had made a new friend. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. We can’t wait to tour with Morey again next time we’re in Japan. Highly recommended!

I’m a travel advisor who was working with clients traveling to Japan as part of their honeymoon!
