We had SUCH a great day with Morey in the Koshu Valley! We’ve been wine tasting around the world and I loved how relaxed this tour was. There was no pressure, no wine-snobs, just pleasant wine and amazing views. We went to 5 wineries, and each place was so generous with their pours! So much value for the money. Our seasonal lunch was a dream. Overall we had great conversation and company with Morey! Cannot recommend enough!

We booked a full-day tour with Winery Tours Japan and had an amazing experience from start to finish. Morey took us to five different wineries, each with its own style, atmosphere, and story. We loved being able to compare the wines and learn about the local production in a way we never could have done on our own.
One of our favorite highlights was the farm-to-table lunch – the food was incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and matched the vibe of the day perfectly. On top of that, Morey went out of his way to show us a local bakery and even a neighborhood supermarket, which made the whole experience feel personal and authentic. It wasn’t just a wine tour; it felt like spending the day with someone who genuinely wanted us to experience real local life.
We would absolutely recommend Winery Tours Japan to anyone looking for a relaxed, informative, and memorable wine experience in Japan.

We had such a fantastic day on our wine tour with Morey. Brilliant communication from start to finish and helped us sort our trains. Picked our group up at the meeting point and dropped us off afterward.  Had refreshments in the car. 5 different wineries ranging from large commercial wineries to small, boutique set ups. We got to meet 2 winemakers who were lovely to talk to and had a tasty lunch of Japanese fusion pasta. Would recommend to anyone to do this tour or contact Morey to do something bespoke too. Thanks so much Morey. Keep doing what you’re doing as you’re doing a fab job!

An absolutely unforgettable experience and one of the highlights of our time in Japan!
We visited four beautiful wineries, each offering something special and giving us a wonderful insight into Japan’s wine culture. The wineries themselves were stunning, and discovering the region, its wines, and the passion behind the winemaking made for a truly memorable day.
What really elevated the entire experience was our exceptional host, Morey. From start to finish, Morey was welcoming, knowledgeable, thoughtful, and an absolute pleasure to spend the day with. The care and attention to detail were outstanding, but what made it particularly special was the effort Morey went to in arranging something extra for my wife’s 40th birthday. Those thoughtful touches turned a fantastic wine tour into a genuinely meaningful and memorable celebration for us both.
The combination of beautiful wineries, wonderful wines, and genuine Japanese hospitality made this experience so special. Everything felt personal rather than simply being another organized tour, and we came away with wonderful memories of both the places we visited and the people we met.
A huge thank you to Morey for making the day so memorable. We cannot recommend this experience highly enough to anyone visiting the region. If you love wine, beautiful scenery, and discovering the more authentic side of Japan, this is an absolute must-do!

We had a wonderful 1 day tour with Morey, exploring wineries in the Koshu Valley.

We had a wonderful 1 day tour with Morey, exploring wineries in the Koshu Valley. We liaised with Morey over a number of months and he curated the perfect tour that ticked all our boxes. We really appreciated the range of wineries he took us to – from large producers to small, family wineries – we felt there was a great balance that gave us a terrific overview of the region. The restaurant he chose for lunch was in a beautiful setting and the food was amazing. Morey made sure we knew exactly how to get to the region and it was very easy to catch a relaxing train to where Morey was waiting to pick us up. Morey was a warm and engaging host who made our day very easy and enjoyable in every way. We fell in love with Koshu wines and wish we could get more of them in Australia. We would highly recommend Morey’s tours and we only wish we could return for a longer stay.

It was a pleasure to have Morey as a guide during the tour. Very knowledgeable about the area and the wine industry in Japan. I got to visit five wineries during the tour which included lunch and some wandering around the lush vineyards of Koshu valley. The lunch was a delicious Italian-Japanese pasta fusion with local ingredients. I thought the pace of the tour was relaxed and had me in a good mood during the entire trip.  There was also ample time to get to know the owners of the vineyards as well as to know what grapes are grown and what challenges there are to grow grapes for wine in this climate. I also managed to purchase some bottles with me back home.  Morey was also helpful with getting my train ticket back to Tokyo amended so I could leave from the closest train station by the end of the tour.  I would be sure to recommend this tour for anyone interested in the wine industry of Japan and to see a different part of the country beyond the big cities.

Morey was an amazing guide! He’s knowledgeable, patient and hospitable. My wife and I had a lovely time and learnt so much about Japanese wines. Highly recommend going on this tour to experience Japanese wine culture.

We had a wonderful time touring the Koshu Valley with Morey. After a couple of busy days in Tokyo, it was the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy a slower-paced day exploring the valley and its wineries.
Morey met us promptly at the train station and guided us through an incredible day of wine, food, and authentic local experiences. We visited five wineries in total and enjoyed a fantastic Japanese lunch that even included a bonus sake tasting.
My wife is vegetarian, and up until this point we had struggled to find good dining options for her in Japan. The restaurant Morey selected prepared an amazing meal for her, which made the experience even more special and thoughtful.
What truly set this tour apart was Morey’s strong relationships with the winery owners and staff. Because of his connections, we were able to enjoy special tastings and unique extras that likely would not have been possible on other tours. At nearly every winery, we had the chance to meet the owners and winemakers themselves, which gave us a much deeper appreciation for the wines and the region.
The Koshu Valley is an easy train ride from Tokyo, and with Morey as your guide, you can expect an unforgettable day filled with excellent wine, great food, and genuine hospitality.
If you’re considering wine tasting in Japan, I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was one of our highlights from our recent visit to Japan! I will be recommending it to everyone I know who is headed to Japan.

Morey is very knowledgeable about the wineries yet still retains approachability so that anyone from expert to novice can enjoy the wines of Yamanashi. The service is also very personal, taking into account how we like to enjoy wine and curating it to best fit us.

The wineries were varied between large and small, but each with their own story. I cannot wait to do it again to see the wineries we missed.

The tour included a wonderfully authentic Japanese lunch that blew our minds. It is not something you can get unless you know someone.

Thank you very much for one of the most wonderful experiences we have had in Japan if not the world! It truly was very special.

Highly recommend Winery Tours Japan with Morey. We started our day with Morey picking us up from our hotel. He was so accommodating even though my group was 30 minutes late. For the rest of the day, Morey shepherded us to 5 beautiful wineries and lunch. He was so knowledgeable about the area and the wines we were trying, and he made the experience fun by sharing interesting stories about his life in Japan. He even drove us to the onsen after! 10/10 experience
